Brian Holman Subtle but engaging, these drones are heavy on distortion and character. A fantastic pastoral listen all the way through. Favorite track: Twin Letters.

about

Guitar Loops and Field Recordings.

Written in St. Louis, MO and Norfolk, VA from January 2015 to January 2017.

I began 2 years ago in my parents' St. Louis basement trying to capture a specific feeling / headspace. Sounds to pull me from my own body. 85% of these recordings were made within the first three months and each initially crossed the 15 minute threshold. I spent the next year and some months whittling each piece down to its core idea, molding them into and out of each other. All my previous work has been additive - building something from nothing. Working oppositely - cutting away large swaths of audio was new, difficult, and often painful. I ended in the living room of my Virginia apartment, having successfully achieved what I set out to do: sonify myself. Enjoy Latent Heat
